ADMINISTRATION

Triage Nurse/Staff Nurse (Call Center): Responsible for working as member of LCDF call center providing nursing assessment to patients who are requesting same-day appointments; also provides education and consultation to patients as appropriate. Working as member of LCDF call center, responds to phone calls requiring a nursing assessment to determine whether a patients needs to be seen the same day, or at a later time, or referred to another provider or service. Consistently advises the patient (or family member) appropriately and in line with LCDF triage protocol. Based on assessing the needs of the individual calling in, schedules an appointment immediately, refers the patient to the emergency room or makes another referral, effectively utilizing the clinical judgment and knowledge of a professional nurse. Consistently makes medical provider aware of patients triaged to the emergency room, according to nursing protocol. Provides patient education and advisement to patients regarding their presenting problems, ensuring they receive appropriate information and respectful support and service. Regularly assists member representatives in answering calls, as needed, when not busy providing triage services; collaborates with staff in providing excellent customer service, maintaining effective teamwork, and promoting the goals and standards of LCDF and the call center. Participates in workshops, meetings and in-service training as necessary to maintain licensure and current professional knowledge and expertise; attends continuing education and maintains CEU’s. Education/Training: Successful completion of ADN or BSN program from an accredited nursing school. Bilingual English/Spanish.

EARLY HEADSTART (NMSU)

Substitute Cook (Temporary): Responsible for maintaining the EHS center’s kitchen and for all meal preparation, ensuring full compliance with the State Food Program’s regulations and required paperwork. Prepares breakfast and lunch meals and snacks for children in the program as well as for Policy Council meetings and other programs activities, ensuring consistent adherence to program standards and all applicable regulations. Plans appropriate menus in coordination with program director and other program coordinators as necessary. Maintains adequate cleanliness and sanitation in kitchen – cleaning refrigerator on a weekly basis and sweeping floor daily – including running dishwasher, in strict accordance with State regulations and program standards. Maintains accurate, complete daily documentation of menu books based on age-appropriateness. Education/Training: High School Diploma or equivalent and work experience in food preparation for large groups are required. Experience working with the state Food Program is strongly preferred.

Dental Assistant: (Las Cruces Dental) Responsible for assisting Dentist with semi-technical work such as cleaning and arranging instruments and helping with X-rays. Also performs a variety of routine clerical duties. Assists dentist as needed with equipment, medication, and management of the patient (including seating and preparing patient, adjusting chair, etc.) during treatment procedures, while ensuring compliance with all applicable policies and dental guidelines. Assists dentist by mixing and preparing materials for fillings, and washes and sterilizes instruments and work area, strictly according to dental policies & standards, infection control practices and OSHA guidelines. Performs related tasks efficiently during treatment as directed by the dentist, such as taking radiographs and charting dictated information on patients’ charts, all in compliance with established guidelines. Education/Training: High School Diploma with six months experience in a dental office and completion of a training course in dental assisting. Must have X-ray certification. Bilingual English / Spanish preferred

Patient Representative (Las Cruces Medical): Responsible primarily for registering patients at assigned clinic, including the performance of related functions, and for ensuring that the front office environment is respectful and supportive to patients.
Regularly registers clinic patients in a timely, accurate and courteous manner and enters patient information into computer. Holds key responsibility for ensuring that the front office maintains a very “positive”, welcoming environment and that patients consistently are treated with respect and compassion. Provides support for patients by advising them of documentation required for registration, responding to any complaints, and appropriately assisting them with the process as needed. Collects patient payments and posts transactions in accordance with established procedures. Works effectively with other front office staff to schedule patient appointments, do appointment follow-up and perform related tasks. Consistently demonstrates compliance with all safety regulations and all rules, policies and procedures set forth by regulatory agencies, LCDF and Medical / Operations Management. Education/Training: High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of one year’s clerical experience required; medical office or healthcare experience preferred.

Sunland Park

Staff Nurse Rover (LPN/RN): Provides direct nursing care and patient education at assigned family medical clinic. Functions as a member of the clinic team along with fellow nursing staff, providers and office staff. Performs basic nursing functions including (but not limited to): patient intake, preparation of patient chart documentation, obtaining & processing laboratory specimens as ordered by provider: administering selected screening & diagnostic test and medications/injections, and in collaboration with other staff, ensuring compliance with all applicable nursing protocols, performance standards and infection control policies. Provides one-on-one patient education stressing health promotion and disease prevention. Assisting at different locations. Requires appropriate NM RN licensure and applicable nursing education/background as well as demonstrated skills in interpersonal relationships, communication, team building, and problem-solving/critical thinking. Bilingual English/Spanish is necessary.
